North Bushey Litter Pick
Thanks to all the volunteers who helped us collect 40 sacks of rubbish at this weekend’s North Bushey community litter pick.
Our haul also included an abandoned fridge, sofa, trolley, clothes drier, printer, and tyres.
More than thirty residents took part in the clear-up, which covered areas around the banks of the Colne, Park Avenue, and near the scout hut.
Speaking of which, it was lovely to have many of their youngsters joining us for the event - Beavers and Squirrels from the 79th Bushey and Oxhey group.
The great turnout was a reminder of the wonderful community spirit in North Bushey - and the shared interest in protecting our local environment.
We’ll arrange another pick as soon as possible
Huge thanks also to Sandy Belloni from Watford on the Water. They’re a community interest company who specialise in waterway clear-ups in Bushey and Watford, and act as guides for our litter picks.
The event was organised by Cllr Louise Nicolas, Councillor Paul Richards and Councillor Alan Matthews, Lib Dem councillors for North Bushey.
Also joining us was our Watford council colleague Ian Stotesbury, the councillor responsible for the ‘rediscovering the River Colne’ project.
