Hertfordshire County elections: What's at stake

On 1st May, residents across Hertfordshire will elect a new county council.

The authority has a huge role in your life. It takes 78% of council tax and controls roads, streetlights, trees, and flooding.

Hertfordshire County Council also runs education and vital social services, including elderly care, children’s services, and SEND.

It is completely separate from Hertsmere Borough Council, which is partly run by Lib Dems.

The county council is entirely run by the Conservatives - and has been for 25 years.

Those Tories must carry the can for serious failings in Hertfordshire - appalling roads and special needs provision.

We believe it’s time for change - and with your support, Lib Dems can win control of the council on 1st May.

The choice is yours, but either way - make sure you don’t lose your chance to vote.
