Bushey North Cllr Paul Richards is proud to announce the launch of a vital new initiative: Bushey Against Watford Stadium (BAWS). It's a collaboration between campaigners, residents groups and community organisations from across Bushey, all working together to get the stadium stopped.

BAWS Letter page1

BAWS has written to Gino Pozzo, owner of Watford FC, asking him to scrap his plan to build a new stadium on Bushey Hall Golf Club. The letter urges him to reflect on the huge concern and dismay among Bushey residents towards the proposal. And the signatories have asked him to reflect on the fact that Watford FC belongs in Watford, not Bushey, where a development like this would cause immense damage to our local environment and way of life.

The letter has been signed by representatives from a very wide range of Bushey organisations, including Mill Way and Mead Way Community Groups, Highwood Women's Group, Friends of Bushey Rose Garden, Bushey United Synagogue, Mill Way Area News, Bushey Manor Field Trust, North Bushey Baptist Church, Kemp Place Residents, Friends of Fishers Field Association, Royal Connaught Park Residents' Association, Friends of Highwood, Bushey Interfaith Forum, and Bushey Mill Royal British Legion Club.

Paul has co-ordinated the letter in his role as BAWS organiser. It's backed by Bushey Lib Dems and has also won support from representatives of the borough's other political parties. The campaign can be found on Facebook @busheyagainststadium
